In 2009, Taupo-based professional photographer Jeremy Bright was travelling on assignment through to the Wairarapa when, by chance, he drove past the old Waipukurau Hospital - a group of disused buildings on Porangahau Road. This discovery sparked a decade's worth of regular visits photographing the hospital site. The original hospital was founded in 1879 and was further developed over a period of 80 years. The hospital closed in 1999.
The photographs in this exhibition have been selected from over four thousand images that Bright has taken of the building complex. Bright describes this body of work as "a documentary record to a small part of New Zealand history."
The old Waipukurau Hospital Ambulance will be on show.
