Phone Codes

Local Calls

Calls between local numbers are free to call and you are only required to dial the phone number. View white pages.

For example, to dial a local number in Napier

• Dial the numbers in this order
• Local Number (e.g. 8341911)

National Calls

• Find the number you want to call
• Find the area code
• Dial the access code '0', then the area code and finally the number you are wanting to call

For Example, to dial a number in Auckland. Dial the numbers in this order, National Access Code (e.g. 0), Area Code (e.g. 9), Local number (e.g. 12345678).

International Calls

• Find the country and area code you want to call
• You do not need to put a zero between the country code and the area code, unless its listed as part of the area code
• Dial all the numbers. If you dial too slowly, you may be disconnected

For Example, to dial a number in Sydney, Australia. Dial the numbers in this order, International Access Code (e.g. 00), Country Code (e.g. 61 - Australia), Area Code (e.g. 2), Local Number (e.g. 12345678).
