Proteins of Magic


Aotearoa (New Zealand) born, musician and multi-format artist Kelly Sherrod is Proteins of Magic.
Following the release of her debut album in 2021, Kelly was a finalist for the 2022 Taite Music Prize / Auckland Live Independent Debut Award. Kelly fronted Punches with James Duncan (2003-09) and also played bass with Dimmer’s Shayne Carter (2007-09), which also included touring America with The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Kelly joined Grammy winner Ryan Bingham for both of his 2013 European and American Tours on bass, which included performances on Jay Leno and Good Morning America. POM has had three songs from her debut on NZ Alternative radio charts. POM currently splits her time between New Zealand and Nashville, Tennessee, where she is recording her second album.

Proteins of Magic is the support act for the upcoming 8-date National NZ Dimmer Tour commencing September 2022 which will be followed by her own Single release 8-date NZ tour in October 2022. This might be the show that changes your life!

Fringe in the ‘Stings is coming to shake up Hastings. In the first two weeks of October the beating heart of Heretaunga is given over to diverse quirky performance. There’s baroque and burlesque, cabaret and comedy, theatre and thrash metal, all at low prices making FitS a festival for everyone.
