To celebrate International Women’s Day on March the 8th we are screening the Movie Nomadland.
Reviews of the film say it is a beautiful and poetic character study on the forgotten and downtrodden, and beautifully captures the restlessness left in the wake of the Great Recession. It follows the character played by Frances McDormand who embarks on a journey through the American West after losing everything during the recession. It is directed by Chloé Zhao.
The evening starts at 5pm with nibbles and the movie starts at 6pm. We are asking everyone is seated by 5.50pm for the guest speaker. The movie will be shown at the Focal point Cinemas in Hastings.
Tickets are available on Eventbrite and at the HWC reception.
