HBAF 2022 - Back to Square One?

HBAF 2022 - Back to Square One?

Inga has seen world wars, cold wars, civil wars. In real life and on TV. And when you’re close to 100 you know a thing or two about a thing or two.

Join Inga in her living room in Denmark during lockdown as she reaches out through space and time to her grandson in New Zealand.

Originally created for driveways, parks and cul-de-sacs, Back to Square One? features lots of chalk and a cameo by a Viking God. It’s a heart-warming and remarkable story of unremarkable lives and the (sometimes) misdirected urgency that drives us all.

Every now and then all you need is an old lady to set you straight. It's theatre, but only just! Coffee and cake included.

Written and performed by Anders Falstie-Jensen, Back to Square One? was shortlisted for Best Play at the 2021 ADAM NZ Play Awards.

“I can’t recall the last time I left a theatre with such a lightness of heart” - Ross’s Reviews

“A beautifully simple piece of theatre, with warmth and heart” - Waikato Independent
