The much-anticipated Boxing Day Festival returns for its eighth edition at the picturesque Cape Estate on December 26th, 2023. Nestled in the heart of Hawke's Bay, this enchanting event promises a day filled with music, games, and delicious culinary delights, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of Cape Kidnappers and the sparkling sea.
Our 2023 lineup boasts 17 talented artists, including the renowned singer-songwriter Anna Coddington, celebrated for her enchanting live performances and captivating voice. With four albums, multiple nominations at the 2021 Waiata Māori Music Awards, and a 2022 Waiata Māori Music Award for Best Māori Album in Te Reo, Anna Coddington is a musical force to be reckoned with. She's a regular contributor to Fly My Pretties and has graced the stage with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra and The Blackbird Ensemble.
The Grogans, hailing from Melbourne/Naarm, are set to captivate the audience with their unique blend of blues, surf, garage rock, punk, and psych. Having released several EPs and albums, The Grogans have earned a reputation as one of Australia's hardest-working young bands. They've shared stages with acts like Ocean Alley, WAVVES, and Hockey Dad, and performed at renowned festivals both in Australia and abroad.
Jesper Tjärnfors, originally from Sweden but based in Poneke/Wellington, is a rising star in the electronic music scene. His solo career has seen releases on international labels, garnering attention and support from top names within the minimal scene. Also gracing the electronic stage is Levi, a seasoned DJ with festival experience, bringing drum and bass vibes to round off the festivities.
