Iconic to the Hawke’s Bay social calendar, the annual Boxing Day Festival returns to Cape Estate in 2020 after another sold-out festival in 2019. The festival delivers the best in Hawke’s Bay hospitality and entertainment drawing together family and friends in an open-air garden stage setting to bring you a memorable summer occasion.
Cape Estate is located on the elevated terrace of Te Awanga Downs overlooking sweeping vineyards, glistening sea and the spectacular Hawkes Bay coastline landmark Cape Kidnappers. With its beautiful secret garden and tennis court, the venue is set to transform into a boutique festival on Saturday 26 December. Expect live music, tennis, kubb and a handpicked selection of local food, wine, beer & cider.
The music line-up is tastefully curated, headed by Wellington’s Estère, who creates sonic amalgamations that merge culture, language and legend. She’ll be joined by Borrowed CS & Mara TK, the Maioha Award-nominated team, reunited to deliver a neo-jazz and soul groove as well as Aucklands’s Flamingo Pier, a music collective influenced by disco, afro and house, plus an additional 10 acts across two stages.
We are happy to open this festival up to all ages, there will be something in it for everyone. Kids 12 & under will have free entry and an enhanced kids zone featuring a bouncy castle. Youths aged 13-17 also welcome. All must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Transport options include free parking available at Cape Estate on the day. As well as return bus tickets to the venue, departing from Taradale, Napier, Clive or Hastings, Havelock Nth and Haumoana.
