Discover how you're designed to move with Feldenkrais "Not Yoga" Awareness Through Movement® classes.
HOW WILL IT HELP YOU?
- Relieves and prevents tension, aches, pains and "niggles"
- Improves posture, breathing and sleep
- Increases awareness/mindfulness
- Improves mobility, coordination & balance
- Gives confidence and ease in your everyday activities
The classes are different from a standard exercise or yoga class. For starters, they are all verbally guided to direct your attention and awareness to HOW you move.
The awareness helps you really tune in and understand your body, your movement habits and how you move.
And instead of using effort, sweat or strain, you improve through using slow, mindful movement.
Think of it like "working in" rather than "working out".
All body types and levels of experience are welcome. It doesn't matter if you've never tried yoga or Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement ® class before or you've been doing it for years.
Classes are held at the airy, bright and spacious Movement Works Studio in Jervoistown, Napier in a beautiful orchard setting (we have lots of space for social distancing as required).
What do students say about classes?
"It's the best hour of my week."
"Sarah makes classes fun and interesting at the same time. I find it fascinating to learn how the smallest of movements can have such an impact on the way my body works. I have benefited from the classes and recommend them to everyone."
Join our fun, supportive community and experience a little bit of awesome for yourself.
Classes run as a 4-week term. If you miss a class that you've paid for, you get an audio recording that you can do in your own time at home for the next 2 weeks.
* note there is no class on Queen's birthday Monday.
