Health and Safety Management can be a frustration for people managers who are under pressure however the safety of your team is not a responsibility to be taken lightly. As such, it is important that people leaders ensure that health and safety KPI's rank equally to both productivity and quality requirements within their role.
This course is designed to help people leaders understand their legal obligations and establish practices which facilitate a collaborative approach between empowered Health and Safety Representatives and management. It also outlines the legal, financial and reputational risks that poor H&S management can have on a business to help them understand the broad affects that H&S issues have across an organisation
Your Learning Outcomes:
This module is designed to simplify risk assessment processes to practical steps that can be applied by any member of your organisation, regardless of level.
Workers who go to H&S rep training often come back complaining that their manager “stymies” their efforts to be safe and advocate for H&S. This course is aimed at those managers and tells them why they no longer have a choice about H&S. H&S legally must rank on par with productivity and quality issues.
At the end of the course the people managers will be able to talk and walk the same talk and walk that their H&S reps do – this should result in better cohesion and efficiency
People managers will learn to recognise that risk needs to be managed on a daily basis and that high frequency/likelihood/harm risks need to be attended to before there are possible financial consequences
