Move better and feel more awesome with "Not Yoga" classes.
These "Not Yoga" (aka Awareness Through Movement®) classes give you freedom from chronic muscle tightness and a new confidence to move easily and without pain.
You will experience improved mobility, posture, coordination and balance (and yes, it will also help improve your yoga practice if that's your thing).
In each class you are verbally guided through a sequence of movements that involve your body AND your brain to turn on your brain's "learning switch".
This breakthrough combination allows you unravel old movement habits causing you tension and pain. You then discover improved ways of moving of your body, giving you more confidence and ease in your everyday movement and life.
You always work at your own level of comfort and we operate on a "No Pain, More Gain" approach.
Plus we take lots of rests along the way to help embed the benefits of what we are learning (the latest neuroscience research shows that this important step is necessary for real change to happen).
All body types and levels of experience are welcome. It doesn't matter if you've never tried yoga or Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement ® class before or you've been doing it for years.
Classes are held at the airy, bright and spacious Movement Works Studio in Jervoistown, Napier in a beautiful orchard setting.

Classes run as a 4-week term - $60 for 4 classes. If you miss a class, you can make it up at another time during the same term OR get an audio recording that you can do in your own time at home. Casual rate available subject to availability.
