Merry Folkn' Christmas

Merry Folkn' Christmas

Albi & The Wolves and Looking For Alaska are coming back to the Common Room for one night of folky Christmas goodness on December 21st 2018! Join both bands as they folkn’ rock your world with their own songs and incredible interpretations of songs you know and love. Each band will do their own set and then they’ll unite together for an epic final set that has become a tradition here in Hastings!

Albi & The Wolves are a dynamic string trio that is known for their fantastic live show that is unique, uplifting and fun. Chris Dent (The proud albino frontman), Pascal Roggen, and Micheal Young use an acoustic guitar, a five-string electric violin, a double voice and their three vocals to make something well worth watching. On top of that show this year they were awarded the Best Folk Artist 2018 Tui at this years NZ Music Awards for their debut album One Eye Open.

Looking For Alaska is a tight trio that is focused around two lead vocalists who voices come together majestically. Aaron Got, Amy Maynard, and Steven play the guitar, drums, and bass respectively and Amy leads the vocals with a soul filled voice that is incredibly engaging. Together they have crafted lovely ballads, rockabilly foot-stomping tunes, and folk-pop duets. All in all, they are also an act you should not miss.
