Wazza's Napier Tours NZ

Avoid the crowds when you visit Napier and enjoy a truly local experience with Wazza who brings stories alive as he narrates Napier's past and present.

Cruise passengers are met at the shuttle drop off point close to Napier i-SITE and returned in plenty of time to catch your shuttle bus back to the ship

Price: $425.00 for the vehicle (seats up to 4 people) Duration: 4 hours

You will journey from town to country and hear about a vibrant coastal city brought to an earth-shattering standstill by the famous 1931 earthquake. Wazza will recount the tales of personal loss and tragedy and explain how this resilient city rebuilt to become known as the self-proclaimed Art Deco Capital of the world.

Experience local hospitality with a rural stopover at Wazza and Fiona's home on a small country block. Enjoy a coffee break while taking in the ocean views. The tour ends with a cruise in a Classic 1966 Pontiac to visit the Art Deco suburb Marewa.

The tour commences in a modern air-conditioned vehicle and includes:

  • Napier City History (A museum without walls)
  • The Art Deco Rebuild
  • Bluff Hill with panoramic views
  • Historic Ahuriri fishing village
  • Iconic National Tobacco Company building
  • Picturesque Coastal Drive
  • Home visit with tea/coffee and biscuits at a rural country block in the Esk hills with views back to Napier, and a garden ramble where you can try home grown fruit in season

The tour concludes with:

  • Fun - Turn the clock back 50 years to an automotive golden era in a 1966 Pontiac sedan and drive through the Art Deco suburb Marewa before returning back to town.
