The Winemaker's Tour

The Winemaker's Tour is a personalised tour that takes in breathtaking views from private and scenic locations, while you experience a Hawke's Bay lifestyle farm and taste wine amongst the vines in your hosts' vineyard.

$155 per person - Minimum 2 people

Duration 5.5 hours, 12.30 pm - 6 pm

This small group tour hosted by 3rd generation winemaker Don and his 4th generation farmer wife Roslyn, allows you to discover stunning Hawke's Bay scenery and 3 of Hawke's Bay's iconic wineries - Esk Valley Estate Winery, Mission Estate Winery and Linden Estate. This exclusive tour takes you away from the crowds to places not normally accessible to the public.

At each of the 3 wineries you will be treated to a private seated wine tasting by Don including reserve quality wines not normally opened. A tasting platter will accompany the wines at one of the wineries.

Visit "The Grange", your host's farm with amazing rural, coastal and city views. Stroll around Roslyn's beautiful country garden. Enjoy feeding the sheep and other animals as we introduce you to New Zealand lifestyle farming.

 This small group tour is very friendly, with warm and genuine 'Kiwi Hospitality' from husband and wife team, Don and Roslyn.

The tour includes pick up from and drop off to your accommodation in an air-conditioned minibus (maximum 11 seats)

Duration: 6 - 7 hours, 10.30 am to 5 - 6 pm 

With Don, a winemaker with 40 years experience in the industry,  you'll get to experience the inner workings of award-winning wineries, take a walk through the vineyards, sample grapes off the vine (dependent upon season), or taste straight from the barrel.

For lunch you will be treated to a two-course degustation of fine wines and gourmet food at a multi-award winning winery restaurant, complete with a wine appreciation tutorial hosted by Don – with interactive sensory tasting to open the exciting world of wine appearance, aroma and flavour.

Travel through stunning river valleys with Don, wander hillside vineyards and discover the magnificent patchwork quilt of the world famous Gimblett Gravels as we try some of the most divine wine and food that Hawke's Bay has to offer.

The Winemaker's Tour includes pick up and drop off at your accommodation in Napier, Hastings, Havelock North and Bay View.

  • Wine tasting at five Hawke’s Bay icon wineries which may include Craggy Range, Te Mata Estate, Vidals Estate, Esk Valley Estate, Mission Estate and Linden Estate.
