Gannet Beach Adventures

The Cape Kidnappers coastline is hazardous. Gannet Beach Adventures are proud to have been safely transporting visitors to Cape Kidnappers for almost 70 years. Our tour is an outdoor adventure conducted in an ever-changing coastal environment that is subject to unpredictable slips, rockfall, rough and rugged terrain and other naturally occurring hazards. It is also in tsunami risk zone. We have taken all reasonable and practicable steps to provide you with the level of care and assurances of safety appropriate to this activity. However, you should be aware that certain inherent risks remain which are integral to the activity - travelling alongside the sea and below high cliffs, neither of which can be eliminated.

Season is now over for 2021/2022. Season restart date TBC.

With almost 70 years’ experience, Gannet Beach Adventures provides a 4 hour mild adventure, travelling along the majestically rugged coastline from Clifton to Cape Kidnappers. During the tour you will;

  • Spend time with and get incredibly close to the majestic gannets in their natural habitat
  • Discover how nature has shaped and formed the towering cliffs of the Cape Kidnappers coastline
  • View ancient earthquake fault lines & fossils, and see gullies formed by wind and water
  • Enjoy a memorable tour experience while travelling on our iconic vintage tractors
  • Departure time is dependent on the tide - please check with our i-SITE

A ride with Gannet Beach Adventures can be many things – a nice day beside the sea, an opportunity to view the amazing wildlife, or a trip back in time as told by the layers in the coastal cliffs. Put them all together and it is a special experience – come and see for yourself!

The tour operates in all weather conditions. Suitable footwear and clothing is required - e.g. hat and sunscreen for sunny days, and light rain jacket or wet weather gear for wet days. Guests are welcome to bring their own refreshments.

A moderate level of fitness is required. The walk to the lighthouse and upper gannet colonies is optional. Viewing the gannets from the trailer deck is guaranteed with a compulsory stop at the Black Reef colony on the beach.

Tour is tide dependent, times will be confirmed at time of booking
